One

“One” is a great children’s book written and illustrated by Kathryn Otoshi. The theme of the book is friendship. At they were all friends. The main character is a blue he wants to be all the other colours. Red is the bully. Red says that he is hot and blue is not. Nobody stands up for blue. Red started bullying everyone. It made him feel bigger than everyone else. One came and made them all laugh. Red told them to stop laughing. So they stopped. One stood up to red. Red went away. One taught them how to turn into numbers. They all turned into numbers and stood up to Red. Red rolled away. Blue said how about we say “Red is hot and Blue is cool”. Red rocked and rolled and turned into seven. Red laughed and he joined the fun. Sometimes it just takes One.

I think the message is to stand up for your self and others. In the end, they stood up to Red. Red stopped bullying them and they became friends. I think that this book is really good and it has a great message.

Ivan: The Remarkable True Story Of The Shopping Mall Gorilla

“Ivan: The Remarkable True Story Of The Shopping Mall Gorilla” is a great children’s book written by Katherine Applegate and illustrated by Brian Karas. Ivan got captured by humans when he was six months old. He and another gorilla baby were captured. They got transported to a mall in Tacoma. They were dressed and named. One day Burma died leaving Ivan alone. Ivan started to live in a house, but he the more he ate the more he grew. The more he grew the less he could live in a human house. The cage in the mall was his new home and he grew into a silverback gorilla. People got mad that Ivan was that Ivan lived a lonely life in a cage. So they transferred him to a gorilla sanctuary. Ivan loved his new home. He enjoyed being around other gorillas.

The theme of the book is animal rights. The message of the story is that animals should be left where they live.

Overall I think that this is a great children’s book and has a really good message.
