Wangari’s Trees Of Peace: A True Story From Africa

“Wangari’s Trees Of Peace: A True Story From Africa” is a great children’s book written and Illustrated by Jeanette Winter. Wangari lives under an umbrella of trees and in the shadow of Mount Kenya. She got a scholarship and goes away from her home. When she returns there are no green trees left. So she replanted the trees with other women. Soon most of Kenya was replanted the trees. She stood up and said that she won’t let them cut down any more trees. My first connection I made to this book is that I have planted many seeds in my garden at my house. Wangari planted seeds so her village would have trees again. Another connection I made to this book is that I have read an article in the newspaper about the Green Belt Movement. The Green Belt Movement is an organization that replants trees in Kenya. The last connection I made to this book is that many people in the world are replanting trees. In conclusion, “Wangari’s Trees Of Peace: A True Story From Africa” is a very good book that tells you what people are doing in Kenya to save the trees.

“Bats big game” is a great children’s book written by Margaret Read MacDonald and illustrated by Eugenia Nabati. The book is about Bat who always wants to be on the winning side. So if one team was winning he would switch to that team. Another connection I made to “Bats Big Game” is that I have read many books that are about a soccer game just like “Bats Big Game”.
